DOWNED P-38 LIGHTNING I've dove on several wrecks. Though unique in their own way, none made my adrenalin pump like sharks, mantas and dolphins - until my wreck-diving friends took me out to a newly discovered plane wreck, just off the coast of Del Mar. I've always liked the war birds of World War II, but the day before our big dive I was getting pumped; this was nothing like before - this was a P-38 Lightning!
