UH-1H Huey "God's Own Lunatics" is the phrase coined by noted reporter, and co-author of "We Were Soldiers Once, and Young" Joe Galloway, as a description of respect and admiration for helicopter crews, and their willingness to go anywhere, anytime, in support of ground combat forces. Galloway witnessed this first-hand during the Battle of Ia Drang in 1965.
