Originally built for the Defense Plant Corporation (DPC) to haul fuel oil barges during WWII, these tugs were acquired and re-powered by Sause Brothers Ocean Towing Company of Coos Bay, Oregon. With a length of 85ft. and a beam of 24ft., these single screw tugs serviced the "doghole" ports of California, Oregon, and Washington, towing barges for the coastal lumber trade. A typical quiet foggy morning will soon be broken by the low rumble of their diesel engines as they await their next call for service.
